Sarah R. Saul, JD

Sarah is a compassionate and knowledgeable attorney dedicated to helping families navigate complex legal matters. Originally from Portland, Oregon, she earned her Bachelor of Science from Oregon State University before pursuing her passion for language and culture in Spain, where she obtained a degree in Spanish Studies from the University Complutense in Madrid. Sarah speaks Spanish conversationally.

After returning to the U.S., Sarah worked as a legal secretary for a non-profit before she earned her law degree from Willamette University College of Law. Sarah focuses her practice on family law, including divorce, custody matters, adoptions, and surrogacy matters. Her goal is to provide thoughtful and empathetic guidance to clients during some of the most challenging times in their lives.

Outside of the office, Sarah enjoys immersing herself in music, exploring new destinations, and staying active. Her well-rounded experiences and approachable demeanor make her a trusted advocate for her clients.

Layton D. Dessert, JD

Layton is a dedicated and knowledgeable attorney who brings a thoughtful approach to his practice at Dessert & Saul Law, LLC. A native Oregonian, he grew up in Beaverton, Oregon, and has deep roots in the local community. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Oregon State University in Corvallis, where he developed a strong foundation in understanding human behavior and decision-making. He went on to obtain his law degree from Willamette University College of Law, equipping him with the skills and insights necessary to advocate effectively for his clients.

Layton is licensed to practice law in Oregon and is also admitted to the federal courts. His areas of expertise include employment law, landlord-tenant disputes, and protective orders. Known for his clear communication and commitment to helping clients navigate the complexities of their cases, he strives to provide guidance that is both knowledgeable and approachable.

When he’s not in the office, Layton enjoys tackling home improvement projects, exploring new destinations, diving into a good book, and spending quality time with his family.

Amberlyn Britt-Hazari, Provisional Licensee

Amberlyn is a dedicated provisional licensee who is passionate about advancing diversity, equity, inclusion, and access to justice. A graduate of Willamette University College of Law, she has been deeply involved in efforts to promote equal access to legal representation and advocacy for underrepresented communities.

With experience in legal research, client advocacy, and complex case preparation, Amberlyn is committed to providing effective and compassionate legal services. She is dedicated to serving diverse populations and ensuring equitable legal support for all.

Outside her legal practice, Amberlyn enjoys painting, spending time with family, visiting museums, and continuously learning. These personal interests reflect her commitment to creativity, connection, and cultural engagement.

Gabrielle Simard

Gabrielle joined Dessert & Saul Law, LLC in September 2023 as a Legal Assistant. She is a 2024 graduate of Oregon State University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Economics and Policy with a minor in Sustainability.

Gabrielle plays a crucial role in the firm's operations, focusing on document collection and organization, drafting legal documents, and facilitating effective communication between clients and their attorneys. Her attention to detail and dedication to client service are invaluable assets to our team. Outside of work, Gabrielle enjoys staying active through running, immersing herself in a good book, and exploring new recipes in the kitchen.

Lilli Appah

Lilli is a dedicated Legal Secretary at Dessert & Saul Law, LLC, with a passion for providing exceptional support to our legal team. With a keen eye for detail, she excels in managing case files, preparing legal documents, and ensuring efficient communication between clients and attorneys.

Lilli's organizational skills and commitment to client service are integral to the firm’s success. Outside the office, she enjoys delving into true crime research, spending quality time with her family, and exploring the beautiful landscapes of Oregon with her dog.
